Tavaline Misterija
(Tav-ah-line Mistery- ah)
In the ages of copper faced nomads, twolegs who scavenged the wide open plains and breathed colorful smoke and chanted their prayers to the heavens, there arose the idea of the first kittypet. There, where the inky sky knew not of the tainted plague of artificial twoleg light, did the first Tavaline Misterija gang members roam. They, with their keen hunting abilities, were herded to a twoleg camp to hunt mice. The cats were painted with colorful minerals and adorned with necklaces and all but worshiped by the twolegs until one day it became clear they had grown soft. Their first leader, known among the cats solely as "chief" had given his heart to a pretty wild she- cat who lived with the other nomadic cats- the gypsies. This she- cat, a gypsy princess, formed the first alliance with the TM gang and the paths of both groups have been intermingled ever since. The gang, having grown soft, began to be infiltrated by members of the gypsy rogues, cats who were strong enough to kill the original members and take their necklaces until the bloodlines between gypsy and TM have become so blurred that few cats truly remember how the gang actually started, or that the necklaces were twoleg trinkets in the first place. In fact, the necklaces have become a symbol of power- the 5 representing the only members of the gang who earned their place either by blood that ran through their veins or between their claws- the 6th belonging to the cat who holds the leader's heart. Now living amongst the gypsies, the reserved gang members of Tavaline Misterija want for nothing. They take what they want and what they can't have. Not a bad life, for a bunch of original kittypets.
Tavaline Misterija Ranks:
The TM ranks are unlike the clans and the gypsies in that there are no elections of power or proper second in command. One leader, four pawns, that's it. The cats do not fit into actual "ranks" so much as "roles." Due to the ancient mysterious properties of the twoleg necklaces the gang members wear, it seems that the gang always has the same type of cats in it. The necklaces have an uncanny coincidence of belonging to the same type of cat each time. The way to get a necklace? Either be a surviving heir of the cat who currently wears it or murder that said cat.
The original gang leader- Chief- was a thick muscled, rather large cat. For his gang he was ruthless, vicious, loyal, strong, and in a way heartless. He took any she- cat he wished because he had the power to do so and there was never any questioning him. Yet deep within, there was a softness, the kind that makes a cat so loyal that he would die for his fellow gang member, that he actually cares when one gets sick, mourns when one is murdered. He is deeply involved with the Ser- seri and can find himself falling in love with the right cat- someone who holds his twisted heart. The necklace he wears is long and dangles proudly and easily around his thick neck.
Miru
(OPEN)
The original gang leader's mate- Miru- was a small black she- cat. A gypsy, she had one purple eye, one silver, and her tail was adorned with various rings of silver, gold, and turquoise because she simply liked the pretty sound they made when she walked. Innocent, kind, and patient, the two were not meant to fall in love but did. So it has always been, and so Chief gave her his necklace. However, once she died, the necklace was returned to him, and is passed down from leader to leader, given to a she- cat only when the leader deems her deserving. If the leader chooses no mate, he keeps the necklace himself, the very small crystal easily concealed under the leader's typically thick fur.
The Rock
(OPEN)
The tom who wears this necklace is always one who is the wise and calm sort, steady, patient, a voice of reason and trusted for advice.
The Dual Blade
(OPEN)
The tom with this necklace is typically someone who likes to suck up to the leader on the outside but has a colder intent on the inside.
The Healer
(OPEN)
This usually belongs to a she- cat or a tom who happens to be of slight weight and build. They are vain, pompous, proud, and viciously loyal. They also have a knowlege of herbs and serves as the gang's healer.
The Shadow Cat
(OPEN)
This necklace is usually worn by a tom who is mean, bloody, cruel, malicious, and perhaps just a touch insane. They are deeply involved in the Ser- seri shadowlands.
The Selir
the selir are the group of she- cats who basically worship the gang. they are considered a part of the gang because the tavaline misterija give them shelter and allow them to take food from the fresh- kill pile (after the actual gang members are fed, of course). they are she- cats who are taken by gang members when needed. concubines. groupies. sometimes they are chosen as actual mates, but typically gang members will have short flings. yes, they can have kits with gang members, but unless the gang member has taken the selir as his mate, the kits are not considered heirs, just one of the fantur, bastard children. these kits often grow resentment against their fathers and usually grow to be the cat who kills to gain true acceptance into the gang.
Tavaline Misterija's Faith:
The Ser- Seri
The Ser- Seri are Tavaline Misterija's Starclan. They are the fallen ancestors of the TM gang who served their group well. They may pad in the forests of the gypsy ancestors as well but they are truly accessible only to the gang members, specifically the leader and healer. The evil cats, those who go to the Ser- seri shadowlands, tend to pad in the dreams of the cat who wears the blood red necklace, filling his dreams with dark thoughts. Although they enter cats' dreams at will, they can be reached through the Tavaline Misterija's sacred place, called the Doliu Wall.
