Runnelclan cats are sleek, slender, nimble creatures with shiny, short fur that water rolls off of due to their high-fish diet. They typically have small paws, long legs, and quick reflexes. They are skilled fishers and don't mind the water or the marshland, their territory fed by the river that flows through it. They are known for being very clever and very calm and patient.
Moon falls, the most sacred place of the clan cats, is used as a meeting place for the medicine cats every half moon. Behind the waterfall is a series of tunnels, which only the medicine cats knows how to navigate, teaching only their apprentices. When it comes time for a leader to accepted by Starclan, he or she must enter the caves and navigate them alone, guided only by their faith. To meet with Starclan, they must enter the cave of glowing bugs and eat one of them, however this secret it one that is also guarded by the medicine cats. This most sacred of lands rests on the boarder Runnelclan shares with Auroraclan, the waterfall feeding the river with weaves through Runnelclan territory.
The great river feeds Runnelclan, providing plenty of tasty fish and water and teaching the cats how to swim. Without the river, Runnelclan wouldn't be the same, using its reeds for shelter and depending on it as a place to gather, to cool off, to play, and to hunt. The rocks along the shore and jutting out into the river work as stepping stone and perches for hunting, although any Runnelclan cat would be just as comfortable directly in the water.
Runnelclan camp also rests among the riverbend, the reeds providing shelter and dens, an abandoned, overturned rowboat making up the leader's den. From the top of the overturned vessel the leader stands and holds clan meetings, cats emerging from the reeds and sitting among the grassy bit of clearing around it.
The remainder of Runnelclan territory is made up of the marshlands, stretching all the way to their boarder with Minstralclan. Here, the cats can find toads and newts and while any other clan might judge the wet mud that covers that part of the territory, the Runnelclan cats don't mind at all, the murky water rolling off their sleek pelts, everything else washed off by a jump in the river. They use this area as their training grounds, learning how to fight on the most slippery and unstable of terrains.
